Elementary school (Santa Marinha) from 1979-1983 and then moved to Carvalhos until finishing of highschool, 1991.

From 1991-1995, BS Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto. Doutor Mendonça Monteiro's prize (1994) for the best final grading in Physical Chemistry and Doutora Teresa da Fonseca'a prize for the student with best final grading in Chemistry degree (1995).

From 1995-1999, Ph. D. degree in Chemistry with thesis defended on January 5th, 2000, University of Porto. Supervisor: Professor José A. N. Ferreira Gomes.

During the year 2000 worked as a post-doc researcher in the Professor Francesc Illas' group, University of Barcelona.

Since 2001 is working as a post-doc researcher at the Centro de Investigação em Química, Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto, under supervision of Professor Manuel A. V. Ribeiro da Silva.
